FAQ

General

Common questions about FigBloxUI.

Do I need BloxMate to use FigBloxUI?

No. FigBloxUI is a completely standalone product. It works independently without BloxMate.

Is the Roblox Studio plugin free?

Yes, the Roblox Studio plugin is free. The subscription is only for the Figma plugin.

Does FigBloxUI store my designs?

No. Designs are processed temporarily (30 minutes max) and automatically deleted, and we never store your Figma files permanently. Two exceptions: with Clean image edges (Pixfix) on, processed images are cached for 30 days so repeat exports are fast, and a bug report you send keeps that section’s layer structure for 90 days. See the Privacy Policy.

Can I use FigBloxUI on multiple computers?

Yes. A card subscription or license key is tied to your Figma account and works on any device where you’re logged into that Figma account. A Robux subscription is tied to your Roblox account: click Login with Roblox in the plugin (in any export mode) and Pro works on every device and Figma account where you log in with it. Your license is for your own accounts only, so sharing your key with other people is not permitted (see Terms).

Can I edit the UI after import?

Absolutely! Everything FigBloxUI creates is standard Roblox instances. You can modify, reparent, or delete anything in Studio.

What happens if I re-import the same design?

It depends on what you send:

  • The whole frame: Live mode asks what to do with the existing ScreenGui. Replace rebuilds it from the new design, so changes you made inside it in Studio are lost (keep scripts outside the imported ScreenGui; Undo brings the old one back). Keep Both adds a new ScreenGui next to it (Name_copy, Name_copy2, and so on).
  • Selected layers: select them in the preview before you send, and only those elements update inside the existing ScreenGui.

Pasting Code or ZIP code for the same frame replaces its ScreenGui without asking. Studio asks first when the name belongs to a different UI, or when the Offset/Scaled mode changes: pick Replace it (Replace & switch for a mode change) or Keep both. After a FigBloxUI update the same design can import with a different tree, so check scripts that find UI by path after a Replace.

How FigBloxUI converts your designs.

Why do some elements become images?

Elements with effects Roblox can’t render natively (blur, radial gradients, blend modes) are exported as PNG and uploaded as ImageLabel/ImageButton. Text is the exception: it stays editable text, with the closest look Roblox can draw, unless you name it with _image, _ImageLabel or _ImageButton or use it in a boolean shape or as a mask. Stacked solid and linear-gradient fills, and stacked borders, stay native. Drop shadows and mixed corner radii become editable UIShadow and UICorner instances by default, and a glow that a layer’s contents cast arrives as one shadow image behind the editable layers; turn off Native shadows and corners in Settings if you want them flattened as well. In the default Automatic mode a decorated group may become one image; set Artwork layers to Preserve layers in Settings to keep more of its layers editable. Separate does this too when the group holds text, a layout, a list or repeated items.

Why is my layout different in Roblox?

It depends on the Offset / Scaled switch next to the export mode. Offset (default) keeps Figma’s pixel sizes. Scaled resizes the UI with the screen, so it can look slightly different at some screen sizes. Use Auto Layout in Figma for best results.

Does it support Components / Variants?

FigBloxUI flattens component instances. It sees the final rendered result. Figma component structure is not preserved in Roblox.

Why does a Send take several minutes?

Large designs with many images take longer, especially the first time. Separate and Preserve layers usually export more images than Automatic, and blend modes make the first Send longer: each blended layer is rendered up to two more times over what is behind it so its colors match Figma, and in Separate and Preserve layers these renders can take most of the Send. A glow that arrives as a shadow image is rendered twice the first time too. FigBloxUI also renders from temporary copies so your own layers are never changed. Unchanged images are reused on later Sends. To send faster, use Automatic or select only the layers you changed.

How many images can one Send carry?

Up to 1,000 different images, and copies of the same image count once. If a design needs more, the plugin tells you before anything uploads. Send one screen or panel at a time, or use Automatic. In Automatic and Separate you can also add the _image suffix to a busy group to export it as one image.

Why don’t my images show up right away?

Every image uploads to the Roblox owner you picked (your Personal account or a Group) and goes through Roblox’s moderation review before it renders. This usually takes a few minutes, sometimes longer when Roblox’s review queue is busy. If the ImageLabel in Studio has an rbxassetid set but shows nothing, it’s almost always still in review. Close and reopen the place, or check again in 10-15 minutes. If it never appears, the image may have been rejected (see below).

My images are blank after I uploaded them to a Group. Why?

Images uploaded to a Group only show in experiences that Group owns. Import them into a place owned by your own account and Studio asks you to share access once: its Output prints a line per image saying the experience does not have access permission to that asset, with a link to share it. Click through once and the images appear. To avoid the step, pick the Image owner that matches where the game lives, or test in a place the Group owns.

What happens if my image is rejected by Roblox?

Roblox moderates every uploaded image with an AI system, and false positives happen, especially with textures and decorative patterns. This is a Roblox-side review, not a FigBloxUI issue, and the same image would be flagged whether it was auto-uploaded by FigBloxUI or uploaded manually through Asset Manager. You can appeal any decision within 30 days. See Image Moderation & Appeals for the full guide and a copy-paste appeal template.

Live tells me to update the Studio plugin, but Code still imports. Is that right?

Yes. The Studio plugin 3.0.0 floor applies to Live only: an older panel is turned away with a message, and nothing arrives until you update. Code and ZIP still paste on 2.5.3. Update to 3.0.0 anyway, because it is what makes everything work, including Separate and Preserve layers in Scaled mode and a second Keep Both copy. See Troubleshooting.

The plugin says there are “export copies to review”

FigBloxUI renders from temporary copies of your layers and removes them when an export ends. If an export is interrupted, or a copy is edited while it runs, the copy is kept instead of deleted. Pick it in the list and click Show layer to find it in Figma. If you don’t need it, click Remove copy…, then Remove this copy. You can Undo in Figma.

Billing, subscriptions, and access.

How does Robux subscription work?

Purchase a Developer Product in the FigBloxUI Store on Roblox. Your subscription activates instantly and is linked to your Roblox account. Monthly lasts 30 days, Yearly lasts 365 days. You’ll need to repurchase when it expires. It does not auto-renew.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Credit card (Stripe): In the Figma plugin, log in with Roblox and click Manage Subscription. That opens the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel. (A web dashboard for managing your subscription directly on figbloxui.dev is coming soon.)

Robux: Robux subscriptions are one-time purchases (not auto-recurring). Simply don’t repurchase when your period expires.

Why does the plugin ask me to reconnect Roblox?

Newer versions check your Roblox connection more strictly, so a connection made with an older version stops working for Code and Live export. Close and reopen the Figma plugin so it updates, click Logout, then Login with Roblox once and choose your Image owner. ZIP export keeps working meanwhile, and your license and uploaded images are not affected.

If you keep FigBloxUI open in several Figma files, the other windows pick up a login or Manage you finish in one of them by themselves, as long as it is the same Roblox account. If a window says its Roblox login has ended, click Logout, then Login with Roblox in that window, and send again.

Can my images belong to a Roblox Group?

Yes. In Live or Code mode, choose the Group as Image owner above the export button. The Group must be selected on the Roblox screen when you log in (click Manage to add it later). Only Groups you own appear on the Roblox screen; a Group you are a member or admin of will not be listed. Your Group role also needs the Create and configure development items permission. Images you already uploaded to your Personal account are uploaded again for the Group.

How do I revoke Roblox access?

Go to Roblox Settings → Privacy → Third-Party Apps → Remove FigBloxUI. To only change which Groups FigBloxUI can upload to, click Manage next to Image owner in the plugin instead.
